A washing machine that can select the right cycle, wash dry AND fold and store your clothes? BERLIN: Panasonic used the recent consumer electronic products fest (IFA) to demonstrate some jaw-dropping technologies for the sloth in all of us. As well as the washer, there’s a fridge you can talk to (or is that ‘with’). And then there’s the sake cooler that will tell you whci sake to match with your meal. Really!

These and other leading edge ideas are still in prototype stage but the Panasonic stand by-line during the event fits the aim of the products – “Better Living Tomorrow.”

The washer and other items revolve around the smart technology of the Internet era and of course, the amazing capacities of robotics and AI. Panasonic targets to make events a more delightful experience shared between friends and families and do tasks on the humans’ behalf.

The washing machine called The Sustainable Maintainer comes with a robotic arm that takes the clothes and even has the ability to analyze the amount and composition of dirt each clothing material has.

On the other hand, the Movable Fridge comes with sensors that can monitor any moving pet or human inside the room where it is in. It can be activated with a simple voice prompt which means you can beckon it to come to you. Couch potatoes don’t even have to get up for another beer!

Finally, there is the Sake Cooler that needs WiFi connection to be able to research on bottle labels alongside its usual purpose of just to chill the drink. It can even suggest a good food match for your drink.
