One Million Bottles Temple

Who drank all that beer?

One million bottle temple

It’s said that Heineken once considered changing the shape of their bottles so that they could be used as building blocks.  It didn’t happen, but that didn’t stop the monks at Thailand’s  Wat Pa Maha Chedio Kaew temple, about 370 kilometres north-east of Bangkok from using an estimated 1.5 million bottles to build this temple.  Everything in the temple, known locally as “Wat Lan Kuad” or “Temple of Million Bottles”, is bottle – even the toilets!

Bottle tops have been used internally to create mosaics and the good news is that the monks are now hooked on building with bottles, with new projects under-way and more planned!

I don't care! Where we're going, no-one is going to make us eat broccoli!

What’s wrong with broccoli?

Who else wants this home?
