Did a snake do it?

Another reason to develop ophidiophobia?
Another reason to develop ophidiophobia?

Scientists think that they may have worked out where the latest coronavirus (2019-nCoV0), the virus behind China’s growing pandemic, started… and it ain’t nice!.

It’s known that the viral outbreak began at a seafood market in Wuhan, China. The market sells both butchered meat and live animals. Speculation has been that the source was seafood.

But now, a team of Peking University of China researchers suspects that the original culprit wasn’t a fish but rather that an infected snake probably set the whole thing off! That’s according to a report in New Scientist.

Unfortunately, it’s too soon to say with any degree of certainty that a snake infected the first person. However, the research is an important step toward understanding the mysterious disease.

Bottom line? If you don’t already have ophiophobia (an abnormal fear of snakes), you might now!
